I truly don't know how we have gotten to this place. Yet another endless war. Unregulated AI companies hurdling humanity towards disaster. ICE detention centers illegally holding innocent people. Unprecedented profiteering by Trump and his family. Shredded alliances with our international friends. Price increases thanks to reckless and punitive tariffs. Preposterous spending on vanity projects. Measles outbreaks. Food-borne illnesses. Insane gas prices. And the relentless attacks on the environment, wildlife, and our national parks.
We are so very close to the midterm elections and the opportunity to right this ship.
But how do we, just normal people, make a difference??
We vote! And we encourage other people to vote too.
But we don't want to leave this to chance so we need to make a plan and follow it step by step. Here we go...
Your 2026 Midterms Voting Plan
- Check your voter registration to make sure you're all set! Did you move recently? Are you sure you're registered? Make certain by checking here!
- Join a local group to get active such as Indivisible and/or Red Wine & Blue.
- Check early voting and absentee voting options in your state - Voting early and ideally in person is key this year!
- Make sure family members, especially college students living out-of-state, have a voting plan.
- Order and display yard signs!
- Throw a postcard party where you and friends mail "Get Out the Vote" postcards to voters who might not usually vote in the midterms.
- Sign up to canvas in your own town and state as well as neighboring states.
- Sign up to be a poll worker or poll observer in your state.
- Attend a No Kings event on Saturday, October 17!
- Research candidates and ballot measures with the help of neutral, fact-based sources such as Vote411 by the League of Women Voters. Whatever you do, avoid VoteSafe which is owned by Elon Musk.
- VOTE on November 3!
It's a lot but it is absolutely doable. We just need to grab our family and friends and make this democratic process fun. Cause what's more fun than saving our amazing country!
