It is absolutely freezing out. The snow is 20 inches deep. The kids are on their third movie. Everyone has had two hot chocolates. Your Zoom calls are done for the day and the afternoon is yours. Now what??
A few ideas...
Bake something and share with your older neighbors - Snow days are wonderful but they are also super isolating, especially for seniors. Your homemade treats (I'm obsessed with these lemon glazed cookies) will surely brighten their day.
Call your senators and house reps and demand they defend our democracy - It's so easy and SO important to tell our congressional representatives that we need them to stand up for the Constitution and against cruelty and violence. All you need is 5calls.org and a phone.
Plan a winter getaway - This has already been a long cold winter after what was obviously one of the worst years on record. You need a break! If you can swing a week on the beach, awesome. If that's too pricey and too long, even just 24 hours away from the usual routine can provide a much needed refresh and restart. You deserve a vaca so get planning!
Sign up for Red Wine & Blue - If you are looking for a way to engage politically in small and big ways and at the national and local level, join Red Wine & Blue. The regular webinars include fantastic speakers, most recently Heather Cox Richardson, and clear strategies for safely and effectively influencing policy and decision makers.

Get a head-start on your spring wardrobe - Four new Beastly skirts are in and heavens, are they cute! Four of our most popular prints - Mollusk, Snake, Staghorn, and Wild Dog - in our new fabulous maxi length. Use code MAXI25PLEASE at checkout to receive 25% off all maxi skirts this week!
Shovel snow while listening to one of my favorite true crime podcasts - Not to toot my own horn but my Halloween True Crime podcast list is pretty fantastic. Shoveling is far more fun with a story of intrigue and suspense in your ear.
Call a Bestie - If you do all or even some of the above, your day will be pretty great. Throw in a call to that wonderful friend you haven’t spoken to in a hot minute and that day of yours will be kicked up from great to fantastic to stellar. You can laugh or cry or whatever you need to do. Your bestie is ready to hear from you so give them a call. You will be so glad you did!
Happy Snow Day!
xoxo
